Pop culture was bithed the second we could all communicate and share our ideals globally... this internet thing isn't new you know.. only more common ppl have the tools to acces, learn, and then manipulate it. That said, Pop Culture dictates what is hot and new.. and without radio, tv, net, or at least the goddamn phone.. whats in Style was only regional for a very long time.. So why like Rap? why like Britney? its Pop Culture.. NOT Taste. I like music, I don't really care where it comes from half the time.. bad music is everywhere, so are bad tshirts, bad style, and bad attitudes.. Whether its good music or not is beyond our control. Enjoy what you like because 'you' relate to it.. frankly I don't get the whole 'ghetto is the new black' thing anyways.. but someone out there does.. You think I love Jh because I saw it on TV? god no.. I knew of Vincent's work and accidentally ran accross it on mpskl. thats how cultrure grows.. you relate to it and share it. So if you don't like it.. rap, tv, bad clothes, whatever.. avoid it.. its mostly about the record labels needing to produce a # of $ every quarter.. and the hell with talent, as long as they can market something.. there are over a hundred concertos you could listen to instead of bitching about the fact that 50c has a record contract and you don't. {so where is your album already?} +laine+ posted by: lyinghere (reply) post date: 04.06.06 (5:43 am) the path 12.09.04 (4:41 pm) well since we were on the topic of religion [confused how music created that effect*shrug*] this is from the Bhagavad-Gita.. shocking how easy things can be: " You have control over action alone, never over its fruits. Live not for the fruits of action, nor attach yourself to inaction. " be active.. now is all we have. +laine+ posted by: lyinghere (reply) post date: 04.06.06 (5:44 am) 04.16.05 (9:35 pm) .abomination.that.is.time. so I've been neglecting adding my thoughts here on any regular basis what so ever.. anyways.. your dose of perception for toay... T0DaY5 T0pIc of cancer: "We are all Time Travellers" As my close friend always reminds me, there is no single moment in our existance that has us stand still. We are constantly in motion, moving forward at a rate that shudders with unstoppable conundrums.. we cannot avoid this pattern. it is build into our systems of birth, decay, rebirth.. the wheel turns. If it wasn't for my this terrible addiction to oxygen/nitrogen, that I have.. I would have passed onto more interesting pastures.. regardless, time forms in expectant bubbles around us.. its important to be aware of this.. there is a point where a decision is made and time leads us to the probable conclusion.. its easier to view in smaller bits, such as reaching out to take a sip of coffee.. but eventually you can preceive fully the outcome of a series of events.. and there is no such thing as destiny as simple as it being written down on a yellow sticky - [although, I'm pretty convinced, I only get a footnote or two in the thesis of life] - its important to know that all actions have meaning .. even if we cannot see them.. one kindness today, turns a new one tomorrow.. a few moments of help by many, creates a smaller amount of work for another single person.. every loss deminishes us, because, as we travel in our tribes, that loss creates one less set of opportunites for us to all share in the work. I'm not a big fan of a institutional white Utopia [ unless you really feel better being an AlphaBatchMale and trust in the fact that like Jesus, Big Brother Saves... then the New World Order Awaits you... ] but if all ppl are going to get onto the same page and create a world worth living in, its going to take a long time for everyone to shed their prejudices instead of blood. so small things like understanding life systems, language, communication, time cycles, psychology, metaphysics, and culture will help us better understand that our place in the universe is in fact to always be asking questions and expecting the universe to give up more. anyways.. enough ranting for one late nite.. cheers +subtransient.laine+ {last gen post } posted by: FreeStoring (reply) post date: 12.11.07 (3:14 am) hay!! good project :) senks :) |
